JAY – A modest turnout showed up for the 36th annual St. Patrick’s Day Pancake Breakfast at the Jay VFW Post on Saturday, with approximately 30 hardy souls braving icy, slushy roads after more than a foot of snow was dumped on the area overnight.

U.S. Congressman Michael Michaud and his aide made a brief appearance, then left for another appointment in Augusta.

The annual event is sponsored by the Democratic Committees of Farmington, Wilton and Jay, and alternates between these communities each year.

All of the food served at the breakfasts comes from area farms.
