WILTON – A closed Main Street business was broken into early Sunday morning, police said Monday.
After 1:30 a.m. Sunday, police received a report of vandalism at the closed E & N Variety, police Chief Wayne Gallant said Monday. When Franklin County Deputy Chris Chase arrived, he found that a window had been broken, discussed the vandalism with a relative of the store owner, investigated, and left, Gallant said.
Shortly after Chase left, somebody entered the building and stole store stock – mostly tobacco products – Gallant said.
Police have leads in the case and followed them up on Monday. “We have a description of the possible suspect,” Gallant said.
