FARMINGTON – Two local teenagers were charged with theft Sunday after they were seen disposing of mailboxes stolen the previous night.

An anonymous tip led Officer Darin Gilbert to a hill near Sunny Hill apartments. Two boys had been tossing mailboxes down the hill, Gilbert said Monday. Gilbert found four mailboxes near the building. He quickly located the boys, both in high school, who owned up to stealing them the previous night, Gilbert said.

The two were charged with (juvenile) theft.
