LIVERMORE FALLS – There is plenty of parking at the high school, and a shuttle will be set up by Jay school officials to take people to the annual Andies vs. Tigers football game Friday night at Griffin Field if there’s a need.
But with the game a day away, people interested in taking a shuttle bus from Jay High School to Livermore Falls need to call ahead and sign up at 897-4336. That’s to see if there is enough interest to set up a shuttle, secretary Pam Bergeron said Wednesday.
People who live near Griffin Field on Highland Avenue have complained in the past about people parking on both sides of the road during the games when there are “no parking” signs on one side of the road.
Police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said police will be ticketing vehicles parked in the “no parking” zones and blocking driveways.
Livermore Falls High School spokeswoman Sally Boivin said there is plenty of parking at the high school but most people going to the games don’t go that far up and instead park near the middle school.
Parking areas that are under-used include the high school student parking lot, she said, which can be accessed by taking the high school entrance driveway off Cedar Street and then a right turn into the parking lot.
The faculty parking lot in front of the high school and the grassy area behind the school are also parking areas.
Parking is also available at the Cedar Street complex, which houses the superintendent’s office, off Cedar Street leading to the middle and high schools, Boivin said.
The game begins at 7 p.m.
