JAY – A convicted sex offender was back in jail Thursday on charges of sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl and providing her and two of her friends with alcohol and a place to drink it, police said.
Christopher Walker, 27, of 58 Main St. in Jay was being held on $5,000 cash bail at the county jail after he was arrested on a charge of sexual abuse of minor Thursday morning, Jay Police Chief Larry White said Thursday.
Jay Detective Roderick Small also summoned Walker on a charge of furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol, White said.
Walker is a registered sex offender in Maine, White said, and was arrested in 2004 for having sexual intercourse with another 14-year-old girl, White said. He was convicted of sexual abuse of a minor in that 2004 Franklin County case, according to the Maine Sex Offender Registry.
Walker allegedly had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl at his residence on Sunday in Jay after he provided the girl and two of her girlfriends with alcohol, White said.
The charge is a felony because Walker is more than 10 years older than the girl, he said.
He is schedule to appear Tuesday, Feb. 28, in Franklin County Superior Court.
