JAY – Rep. Ray Pineau, who had a stroke Aug. 24, is out of the hospital but still in the Bangor area, Jay Selectmen Chairman Bill Harlow said Tuesday.
Pineau, a state lawmaker and Jay selectman, has been progressing in his recovery, said Harlow, who updated selectmen Monday on Pineau’s condition.
Harlow said he has been told that Pineau is still undergoing intense therapy, is walking with a cane and is speaking in whispers.
The family has asked that cards be sent to Pineau’s Jay residence: 44 Lavoie St., Jay, ME 04239.
Pineau is in his third term as a Democratic state representative for District 87, representing the towns of Chesterville, Jay, New Sharon, Starks and Mercer.
