FARMINGTON – Twin Pond Motel on Wilton Road was scheduled to close for good Monday, said the property’s new owner.
“Farmington’s ready for a new phase,” owner Randy Cousineau said Friday.
Cousineau said he plans to convert a two-story motel building near the back of the 12-acre lot into about a dozen apartments. Other than that and an auction Sept. 10, he really has no specific plans for it, he said.
There are about 12 cottages there, a two-story building with a sunroom, a miniature golf course and small water park. Everything that can be moved, including the camps and two-story building, will be up for bid at the auction scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the site.
In addition to the buildings, camp site hook-ups, furniture, batting machines, small boats, vending machines and other items associated with the business will be up for sale. For more information, people can phone auctioneer Adrian Harris at 779-9000.
