FARMINGTON – The Franklin County grand jury indicted a 36-year-old Farmington man Wednesday on charges of aggravated criminal mischief, assault and refusing to submit to arrest.

Harold Enman was arrested on the charges on May 23 after police said he got into a scuffle with Farmington police officer Shane Cote. Cote had approached Enman in front of his home on Box Shop Hill Road about 9:30 p.m. after an acquaintance called saying Enman had left her home in his vehicle after harassing her. He was intoxicated and had a firearm, she had said.

Enman and Cote clashed when the officer tried to arrest Enman. A second officer threatened Enman with pepper spray. Then, when Enman, was handcuffed in the back of the cruiser, he kicked out a window in the police vehicle, causing $2,400 worth of damage, according to police records.
