LIVERMORE FALLS – Selectmen agreed Monday to eliminate one parking space on a sharp corner on Depot Street as a traffic safety precaution, board Chairman Kenny Jacques said Tuesday.
The space to be eliminated is the first one in front of Copies Etc., located in the Nason Block, Jacques said.
Trucks have difficulty getting around the corner at Main and Depot streets, also known as Route 17, in the downtown area.
Vehicles are constantly being hit on the corner, Jacques said.
Eliminating the parking space would also give a better view at the intersection for traffic coming up from the recreation field on Foundry Road, he said.
The first parking space on Main Street near the Chuck Wagon was eliminated for safety reasons as well.
