JAY – Sixteen applications were received for the Jay High School principal position, Superintendent Robert Wall said Friday.
Principal Peter Brown is retiring at the end of the school year.
Jay School Committee Chairman Clint Brooks, high school Assistant Principal Kenric Charles and Wall reviewed the applications and selected three candidates to be interviewed Tuesday by a committee that includes school personnel, parents and students, Wall said.
After the interviews, information on the candidates will be given to the School Committee, and Wall said he will make a recommendation on a candidate for principal.
Wall hopes that he’ll have a candidate for nomination at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Jay Middle School.
