DALLAS PLANTATION – Fire officials are investigating a fire that leveled an unoccupied mobile home on Loon Lake Road.
The fire is considered suspicious because there was no power to the trailer and it was unoccupied, Rangeley Fire Chief Rudy Davis said.
The owner of the mobile home, Ryan Thompson of Rangeley, contacted him Sunday after he discovered the smoldering remains, Davis said.
Davis said he suspects the fire happened early on Sunday.
No firefighters were called out, he said, because the structure had been burned flat by the time it was reported.
Davis said he has called the state Fire Marshal’s Office to help with the investigation.
Rangeley Police Chief Phil Weymouth and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department were also involved in the investigation, Davis said.
