LIVERMORE FALLS – Area residents will soon have an opportunity to select sweet gifts when Jason Ward opens his Sweet SenSations at 74 Main St. in Central Plaza.

In his application to the Planning Board, Ward stated he will offer candy bouquets, candles, Boyd bears and gifts in his shop next to Pam’s Pantry, which recently opened in the plaza.

He also plans to carry several types of regular candy as well as sugar-free candy for diabetics. He will also have gift baskets and balloons, ribbons and bows.

Hours of operation will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays. He plans to open as soon as his inventory arrives.

An application by Lee Veilleux for a Fun Park off Route 133 (Park Street) in East Livermore was tabled, as not all abutters had been notified by certified mail with return receipt.

Veilleux would like to have a family-operated park that would include miniature golf, remote-controlled car racing and, possibly, other activities.

There would be a small building for an attendant, admission would be charged for each activity, and the field would be fenced. The field would be shut at dusk, he said.

Planners will walk the proposed site, which is just beyond Pike’s Corner Oasis, at 9 a.m. Feb. 19. The public may attend, if interested.

The proposal will be reviewed further at the 6 p.m. meeting on March 2.

Also on March 2, the board will continue its review of a proposed Building Notification Ordinance and proposed amendments to the Building Standards Ordinance.

The Building Notification Ordinance would require that a permit be obtained before construction of residential or commercial buildings, or outbuildings, of 200 square feet or larger.

The application for the construction would need to include location of the lot, location and dimensions of the proposed project, distances from roads, property lines and water bodies, and copies of any applicable state or local permits.

Town officials feel the ordinance is needed to protect the health, safety and general welfare of the people, protect the environment and to provide for orderly development of the town.

Amendments to the Building Lot Standards Ordinance would address the problem of back lots that have no frontage on public or private roads. It would require the lot to be served by a right-of-way at least 50 feet in width with a travel lane of 25 feet.
