Eugenia R. McLaughlin
CUMBERLAND – Eugenia R. McLaughlin, 84, a longtime resident of Greely Road, passed away on Sept. 5, following a brief illness.
She was born in Portland, a daughter of Frank and Verna (Cushman) Graham. During World War II, Eugenia was a welder on the Liberty Ships in South Portland. She was a member of the Baker’s and Confectionary Union Local 334 for many years. She worked at A&P Bakery in Portland and later at Nissen’s Bakery in Portland before retiring in 1985. She was an auxiliary member of the AMVETS and the American Legion. She enjoyed country music and loved to dance.
She is survived by six children, Trudy D. Rodney and her husband, Andrew, of Old Orchard Beach, Sherry L. Carll and her husband, Thomas, of Gray, Maureen J. DeVou of New Gloucester, Darcel R. DeVou of Gray, Eugenia “Jo” Brown and her husband, Ladd, of Lisbon, Heather L. Hynes and her husband, Pat, of Durham; a sister, Judy Pramis of Glendale, Ariz. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her longtime companion, Edward Champoux;
daughters, Shirley Therrien and Lenore McLaughlin; sisters, Audrey
Edgerton and Lola Kozich; brothers, Dudley Graham and Denny Graham;
granddaughter, Jessica Mayo; grandson, Richie Gallant.
