DAYTON (AP) — Firefighters say a large fire has destroyed an old dairy barn and equipment in Dayton.

Authorities said the fire broke out at about 5:40 p.m. Monday in the barn at Andy’s Agway.

Firefighters said the fire also destroyed several cars, a tractor, forklift and wood pellets stored inside.

Hay stored in a metal building attached to the barn also burned. An excavator was called to tear apart the hay so firefighters could douse it with water.

The fire was brought under control after several hours. The fire marshal’s office has been contacted to investigate a cause.
