LEWISTON — The YWCA of Central Maine will offer “I have a digital camera. Do I have to take it out of the box, too?” from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17.

The class will look at the basic settings that are common to most point and shoot digital cameras and answer some questions that will help participants feel comfortable exploring camera settings. Also discussed will be options for sharing images with family and friends. Attendees should bring their cameras and if available, the instruction manual for the camera.

The class is free for YWCA members and $5 for nonmembers. The class will take place in the Vachon Meeting Room at the YWCA, 130 East Ave.

Tammie Grieshaber, the class facilitator, is the owner of Mainely Kids Photography. She has been behind a camera most of her life, but the advent of digital photography lit her creative fires. Grieshaber’s work can be viewed at www.mainelykids.us.

Limited space is available for the class. Register by calling Kayt DeMerchant, director of marketing and hallmark programming at YWCA of Central Maine at 795-4050 or via e-mail at [email protected].
