This is in reference to Mr. William Van Tassel’s letter, “It’s Still A Sin.” (Sept.12.)
We along with other parents of gay loved ones are not dysfunctional as stated in his discriminatory letter. Our loved ones are the “clean-cut normal” human beings that you will be seeing in television ads. They are not the “tattooed and body-pierced” group that he mentioned. Has he noticed all the heterosexuals that can be described as such?
The issue here is not “sin” or “immorality,” but rather having equality for everyone without having to tolerate discrimination and hurtful words as stated in Mr. Van Tassel’s letter.
If the repeal fails, it will mean a huge step forward for our loved ones to live out their lives as they choose, without having to be subjected to further hostility and division. We should all want equality, peace, and love in our lives. End the discrimination!
