AUBURN — Central Maine Community College President Scott Knapp announces the following staff appointments:

Kate Dargie takes the position of public affairs representative. Dargie is an Auburn native who graduated from Edward Little High School. She graduated with high honors from CMCC in May with an associate degree in business administration and management. While a student, Dargie played basketball and softball and was vice president of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society. She is also serving as the assistant coach of the CMCC softball team and works part time at the Sun Journal. She now lives in Monmouth.

Thomas Carroll is a resident director. A native of Waterbury, Conn., Carroll earned his associate degree from Dean College in Franklin, Mass. He then graduated with a baccalaureate degree in communications and journalism (with a focus in public relations and event planning) from Suffolk University in Boston. Carroll has worked previously as a community adviser at Dean College.

Alex Nering is a facilities maintenance specialist. A Weld native who now lives in Monmouth, Nering earned his associate degree in architectural and civil engineering in May. He is now pursuing a bachelor’s degree in applied technical leadership at USM. While a student at CMCC, Nering was a member of the student senate and served as president of the Outdoor Club. He also competed in “Skills USA” events at the state and national levels.
