LEWISTON — Geiger, the nation’s largest family-owned promotional products company, has donated $10,000 to the Lewiston Education Fund for use at the newly-opened Raymond A. Geiger Elementary School.

Peter Geiger, executive vice president of Geiger and editor of the Farmers’ Almanac, presented the gift during the Geiger School dedication ceremony held on Sept. 16. The donation will fund initiatives at the new school that further the Lewiston Education Fund’s mission of enhancing educational innovation in local schools.

“The Geiger School is built around the Dr. Seuss book ‘Oh, the Places You’ll Go,’ a testament to the power of imagination. In that spirit, this grant through the Lewiston Education Fund will test the imagination of the school’s staff to find creative ways to stir the imagination of its students, now and in the future,” said Geiger, who also serves as president of the Lewiston Education Fund.

Founded in 2002, the Lewiston Education Fund is a nonprofit organization created to fund projects and programs that expand educational opportunities, foster creativity and enhance academic excellence in Lewiston’s public schools. Funding comes from individual and corporate tax-deductible contributions, as well as foundational support. To learn more, visit www.lewistoneducationfund.org.
