If capitalism is not properly regulated, it is the most oppressive economic system.
Capitalism is based on the idea that every year, sales will increase, profits will increase and the economy will grow. In order for capitalism to succeed, growth is required.
The problem is that natural resources are not infinite, and the human population will reach a point where it will no longer grow. When zero growth happens, capitalism fails.
The obvious solution is a hybrid economic system. Many developed countries have figured this out. They have hybrid economic systems that incorporate socialism into parts of the economy where the profit motive either doesn’t work or is inappropriate. That part of the economy is health care.
What Americans have to understand is capitalism is not constitutional. In fact, the Constitution makes no mention of any economic system. It is not that capitalism is unconstitutional, it is just not included in the Constitution. The Constitution does not name an economic system nor does it exclude any economic system.
