LEWISTON — On Saturday, area youths will have the opportunity to check out the “Wide World of Scouting” during a recruiting event at Lewiston High School’s football practice field from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Participants will enjoy some old-fashioned fun with three-legged races and a tent-pitching competition, as well as an introduction to many of the local Scouting units, leaders and Scouts.
Youth tickets may be purchased for $5 each and include lunch and a custom event patch. While the event is geared toward youths 6 to 20 years of age, the whole family is welcome to join in.
For more information on local Scouting units go to http://beascout.org or call Scott Verrill at 592-8077.
