Joline A. Ferron

NORWAY – Joline Anne Mancine McKinney Ferron of Oxford passed away on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009. She was comforted by her children and guided by the angels to heaven.

She was born in Portland, the beautiful daughter of Illda (Brown) Mancine and Thomas Mancine. She grew up in Wilton, and graduated with honors from Wilton Academy. She was head majorette, a member of the field hockey team, glee club, and reporter for the school newspaper. She attended Burdett Business College in Boston. She was a legal secretary as well as secretary and receptionist to the American Embassy in Paris, France. She spent 20 years as a medical transcriptionist which she really enjoyed, as well as taking pleasure in writing and editing monthly newsletters such as ‘The Pulse’ for Dictate Inc. Joline was a go-getter, professional and classy in every sense. She excelled and went above and beyond in everything she ever did.

In addition to her very ambitious career, she was also well traveled. She resided in such places as Boston, Orlando, Paris, Grand Bahama Island, Freeport, Berlin and Gilead, where she and her husband took much pleasure and pride in running a mom and pop store called “Ferron’s Country Store” for a number of years. They have resided in Oxford for the last 10-plus years.

Joline enjoyed cooking, playing cards, bowling, golfing, dancing, country music, trips to the ocean, yard-saling, crossword puzzles, and most dear to her heart, spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond, of Oxford, whom she married on Oct. 27, 1980; her sons, Patrick McKinney of Oxford, and Michael McKinney and wife, Barbara, of Gilead; her daughter, Amy Ferron and fiancé, Erik Simoneau, of Norway; her brothers, Brian Collins and wife, Diana, Paul Collins and his wife, Roberta, Steve Collins, and Randy Collins; her sister, Brenda Palmer; and many nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved dearly as well.

She is also survived by her stepmother, Vivian Mancine, of Turner, including five brothers and two sisters of the Mancine family; three stepdaughters, Debra Gagnon and husband, George, Diane Charest and husband, Gary, and Lisa Ferron; and her stepson, Michael Ferron, and wife, Diane. Last, but certainly not least, she is now an angel to 10 beloved grandchildren, Alexandria, Morgan, Mikey, Colton, Eric, Lauren, Joshua, Shane, Teddy and Kaylee. She also left behind her dog and best friend, Benji.

She was predeceased by her parents; and her beloved brother, Gary Collins.

How do we find the words, as your children, to tell you what a difference you’ve made or how many times the sounds of your voice and your gentleness have lifted our spirits? Or to thank you for all the sacrifices you’ve made, not just as a mother, but as a wife, grandmother, friend and so much more to so many? We were blessed to have had you here with us as long as you were and continue to be blessed to now have you as an angel watching over us. We hope you always know in your heart how much we love, respect and thank you for the countless ways you’ve helped to make our lives what they are today, with your selflessness, generous golden heart and unconditional love. We will always feel your presence and you will forever remain in our hearts with all the wonderful memories you gave us. We love you eternally, your children and family.
