Story time
HEBRON — The Hebron Station School Library has announced that it is
opening its doors to nonschool-aged children in Hebron. Any non-school
aged child may attend a community story time at 10 a.m. Fridays,
beginning Oct. 2, and continuing
Fridays throughout the school year.
Story time will be with the librarian, Mrs. Blake. She will share a
story and other literacy based activities with the children and adults.
Children may attend with a parent, guardian or daycare provider. For

Installation
NORWAY — The Oxford Union Association of the
United Church of Christ will install the Rev. Leslie B. Foley as minister
of the Second Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, on Sunday, Oct. 4. The installation will be held at 4 p.m. at the church, 205
Main St. It will include area clergy,
members of the Maine Conference, U.C.C., storyteller
Valerie Tutson and the Boy Singers of Maine.
Installation will be a celebration for the community,
friends and members of the Second Congregational Church, U.C.C. All are welcome to join in
worship, study and fellowship. For more information, call the

Nature club
PARIS — The Twin Town Nature Club will meet at 10 a.m.
Monday, Oct. 5, in the Cornwall Plaza parking lot, and carpool to foliage viewing sites
in the general area. Visitors are welcome and those attending should bring a picnic lunch. For

Socrates cafe
WATERFORD — The Socrates Café will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, at the Waterford Library. The group offers a forum to discuss current topics and ideas in a friendly atmosphere, where divergent views will be welcome. The topic for October is “Economic Uncertainty, Peak Oil, Climate Change: How Do We Prepare For The Triad?”

Girl Scouts
SUMNER — Girl Scouts of Maine will host a parent information and Girl Scout sampler meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, at the Hartford-Sumner Elementary School.
Girls who
attend will have an opportunity to sample Girl Scouts through various
activities and will learn about the ways girls and adult volunteers can participate in Girl Scouting.
