Marshall Leroy Sinclair
1925 – 2009
TOGUS — Marshall Leroy Sinclair, 84, of Lufkin Avenue, Mexico, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009 at the V.A. Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born in Mexico, Sept. 17, 1925, a son of William and Myrtie (Cole) Sinclair, and had attended schools in Mexico.
During World War II, he served as a seaman first class in the U.S. Navy.
He had worked at Boise Cascade Paper Co. for more than 42 years until retirement in 1987 as a runner on No. 15 paper machine.
For many years, he enjoyed wood working in his shop. He was a member of the Boise Cascade Paper Co. 25 & 40 Year Club; member of Napoleon Ouellette Post 24, American Legion; former member of Robert Shand Post 1641, V.F.W.; member Blazing Star Lodge 30, AF & AM; and a member of LeParesseux Snowshoe Club.
He was married in Mexico, Dec. 31, 1943 to the former Violet G. Chadbourne, who died in Rumford on March 30, 1999.
Survivors include daughters, Marsha White of West Peru, Susan Wescott of West Buxton and Janice Umbro of Swampscott, Mass.; sons, William G. Sinclair and wife, Rhonda, of Mexico and David J. Sinclair and companion, Lynn Morse, of West Peru; nine grandchildren, Cheryl MacDonald and Donald Wescott of Buxton, Daniel Wescott of Limington, Anne White and companion, Bill Duguay, Paul White and wife, Amanda, of West Peru, Aaron Sinclair of Milton, Vt., Douglas Sinclair of Mexico, Mark Sinclair of Buxton and Michael Umbro of Swampscott, Mass.; eight great-grandchildren, Chrystal MacDonald of Gainsville, Fla., Jacob MacDonald of Buxton, Desiray Wescott of Limington, Ashlyn and Christopher Wescott of Greenwich, Conn., Corey and Brian Duguay of Rumford and Kaylani Sinclair of Mexico; sisters, Pauline Gotto and husband, Robert, Barbara Bernard, and Joyce Stewart and husband, Clifford, all of Mexico; brother, Thomas Sinclair and wife, Marian “Banan,” of Mexico.
He was predeceased by son, Mark Sinclair; granddaughter, Janet Sue White; sisters, Edna Dixon and Emily Gauthier; brothers, Harold, Bruce, Kenneth and Rex Sinclair; and son-in-law, Arthur White.
