LIVERMORE FALLS — The Livermore Falls Jay Senior Citizens met at Murray Hall on Sept. 28 with 29 members and 1 guest, Francis Therrien, present.

Chairwoman Shirley Couture opened the meeting with prayer, a salute to the flag and a moment of silence for the deceased members and for the men and women in the Armed Forces.

Couture called Verso to report that there was no heat in the hall and also that she needed garbage bags. As of Sept. 28, nothing had been done.

Lorette Chabot was welcomed back.

It was reported that Theresa Dufour Hamner, who is the daughter of Maggie Dufour, had passed away.

Mary Groleau’s family has passed on to the club many of the records she kept while she was secretary including music, photos, newspaper articles and many items of interest. Couture will bring them in so members may look at the items.

Kim Cote has asked if she could put on a skit for the group, which she will do on Monday, Oct. 12.

Couture has senior vouchers for anyone who wants them. The vouchers are for the dine-around and are good at the Chuck Wagon.

Members sang “Happy Birthday” to Jim Williams, who was the only member celebrating a birthday in September.

The 50/50 was won by Margaret Richardson.

Following the meeting a Chinese auction was held and cards, games and cribbage were played.
