As a season ticket holder to Community Little Theatre, and as part of my “coming out” journey in life, I decided to treat some of my friends in the community to a different showing of “The Full Monty” by buying tickets for all seven shows. I have seen both the play and movie previously (which are very different), and know what to expect. I decided not to warn them and to wait and see their reactions.

I was amazed by their reactions and also by some members of the audience. During a very key moment during the play, we see a young man breaking down during a song called “You Walk With Me.” I applaud both of the young men who have the courage and decency to sing that song.

It is for young men like them that is the reason why I am voting “no” on Question 1 in November.
