LEWISTON — A benefit for Dave Pelletier will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct.
9, at the Elks Lodge, 1675 Lisbon St.
Pelletier is a 51-year-old man from Auburn who, in
April 2009, was diagnosed with bone cancer in his leg that has
metastasized to other parts of his body. His particular type of cancer
requires that he receive his treatment at Massachusetts General
Hospital in Boston, Mass. He and his wife, Nancy, have been traveling
back and forth since April for the monthly, week-long treatments.
There will be a spaghetti supper from 5 to 7 p.m.,
50/50 and raffles. Pelletier is a local musician and has been a member of
several bands over the past 30 years, including Roadhouse, Care,
Montana and Stagecoach. He is currently the keyboard player for ForeFront. Musicians
are encouraged to bring their instruments and participate in an open
jam to start at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $10 and may be purchased in advance
or at the door. Pelletier is no longer able to work so all proceeds will be presented to
the Pelletier’s to help with traveling costs, medical bills and with
their monthly financial obligations. On Aug. 28, a benefit concert, dance and silent auction was held at the Gold Room in Portland, and a little more than $2,000 was raised..
Donations of cash or raffle items
are also appreciated to help make the benefit a success.
