RUMFORD – A Mass of Christian Burial for Gerard Joseph O. Labrecque was celebrated Tuesday at Parish of the Holy Savior. The Rev. Alfred Jacques was the celebrant. Altar servers were Nick and Conner Woods and George Gionet. Mark Belanger was the organist. Music selections were “Amazing Grace,” “Ave Maria,” “J’irai la voir un jour” and “Wind Beneath My Wings.” Readings were done by his granddaughter Rachael Labrecque and his daughter Sally Arsenault. The eulogies were given by his grandson James Freeman and granddaughter Tanya Bernard. The prayer of the faithful was offered by his son-in-law Leslie Bell. Pallbearers were Nathan Woods, John Bernard, Bob Bernard, Joey Labrecque, Andy Labrecque and Tim Labrecque. Military Honors were offered by the Maine Military Funeral Honors Team, and the American Legion Post 24. Interment was in St. John Cemetery. A reception followed at the Labrecque residence. Services were under the care of SG Thibault Funeral Home.
