LEWISTON – Herbert L. Campbell Jr., 82, of Auburn, died on May 4, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born on June 17, 1926, in Auburn, the son of Herbert L. Campbell Sr. and Pearl I. Bragdon. He worked for 48 years as a millwright at Pineland Lumber.

He enjoyed horseback riding, hunting, picnics and going to the beach with his family. He also liked to build, and built the family home.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda Machaffie, and husband, James, of Alabama, Sharon Campbell of Turner and Tina Campbell of Turner; son, Bruce Campbell and his wife, Candice, of Auburn; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents; beloved wife, Alice (Clukey); and sister, Betty Hurd of Auburn.
