LEWISTON – A memorial Mass of Christian burial honoring the life of Rita Lapointe was celebrated Thursday by the Rev. Joseph Daniels at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. At the beginning of Mass, Rita’s great-nephew, Adam Gauthier carried his aunt’s urn into church during the processional psalm and also after Mass during the recessional psalm. After a procession to St. Peter’s Cemetery, the Rev. Daniel recited committal prayers at the interment. At the conclusion of services, all were invited to a reception of fellowship at Gipper’s Restaurant in Auburn. Arrangements by the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
