AUBURN – Bertha I. Hilton, 85, a resident of 440 Minot Ave., Auburn, formerly of Portland, died Saturday, March 21, at Hospice House.

She was born in South Paris, April 23, 1923, the daughter of Ellsworth and Annie (Witham) Murch.

She was a member of the Red Hat Society, and her hobbies included crossword puzzles and she also enjoyed working at the Early Learning Center in Auburn. She especially enjoyed her friends at Clover and playing bingo.

Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Norwood and her partner, Dana Pittman, of Minot; one brother, James Murch of Waterford; three granddaughters, Rhonda Field and Tiffany Norwood, both of Lewiston and Sheri Smith and husband, Michael, of Boaz, Ala.; two grandsons, Robert Norwood and fiancée, Rachel Plourde, and Eric Zamrock and wife, Amy, all of Lewiston; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
