RUMFORD – Margaret Jean Simmons White, 88, of East Andover, died Friday, Jan. 9, at the Rumford Hospital.

She was born in Portland, on June 17, 1920, a daughter of William and Jessie (Enman) Simmons Sr. She had attended schools in Michigan and Maine.

She was a member of the Calvary Bible Church, Andover. She was married March 28, 1936 to Lester O. White, who died in Rumford on Sept. 2, 2005.

Survivors include sons, David White and wife, Betsey, of Andover and Daniel White of East Andover; daughters, Norma Farrington and husband, Freeman, of East Andover, Donna Hall and husband, Steve, of Conyers, Ga., Wanita Offhaus and husband, Greg, of Fayetteville, N.C., and Marilyn Morton and husband, Wayne, of East Andover; a sister, Marjorie Stinson of Andover; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Bud and David Simmons.
