LEWISTON – Phyllis L. Duncanson of Montello Heights died suddenly Friday, Jan. 2.

She was born in Portland, on Jan. 16, 1921, a daughter of Ralph A.L. Strout and Gladys A. (Monroe) Strout. She was educated in Portland and graduated from Portland High School, Class of 1938. She retired from Union Mutual Life Insurance Co.

She leaves two daughters, Linda J. Vacchiano and her husband, Benjamin, of Standish and Nancy L. Bartlett and her husband, Bruce, of Auburn; a son, David F. Duncanson and his wife, Bonnie, of Tempe, Ariz.; a brother, Warren W. Strout and his wife, Anna, of Portland; six grandsons, Stephen B. Bartlett and his wife, Nina, of Turner, Douglas A. Bartlett and his wife, Nancy W., of Auburn, Brian K. Bartlett and his wife, Susan, of New Gloucester, Stephen J. Vacchiano and his wife, Lori, of East Sebago, Timothy J. Vacchiano and his wife, Amy, of Cornish and James D. Duncanson of Tempe, Ariz.; 12 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to send a very special thanks to the entire staff and all the residents at Montello Heights for the wonderful care and the compassion she received in her 12 years with them.
