BETHEL – Funeral services for Mr. Murray W. “Mike” Thurston of Bethel were conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 4, at the West Parish Congregational Church, Bethel, with the Rev. Virginia Rickeman officiating.

Organist was Mr. Dan Johnson. Music selections were “Spirit, Spirit of Gentleness” and ” In the Garden.” Special music included “Ave Maria,” by flautist Patricia Boyle-Wight, ” I Did It My Way,” by soloist Steven Seames, and “Amazing Grace,” by bagpiper Denise Hurd. Words of remembrance were given by sons David, John and Peter Thurston and nephew, Eric Wight.

Reminiscences were given by family and friends. A reception followed the services at Ordway Hall at Gould Academy in Bethel.
