VINITA, Okla. – Helen Marie Cozart, 71, a Vinita, Okla., resident, passed away Friday, Dec. 19, at Craig General Hospital.
She was born Nov. 12, 1937, in Omaha, Neb., to Fred and Ida Gerhart. She attended school in Omaha, Neb.
She married Charles Edward Cozart on Nov. 17, 1957 in Bakersfield, Calif., and they moved back to Oklahoma in 1975. She lived in Picher before moving to Vinita in 1993. She worked as a nurse’s aide and housekeeper at the Quapaw Nursing Home, the Big Cabin Truck Plaza and Autumn Homes 1 and 2 in Vinita.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Christine Cozart of Miami, Okla., and Teresa Regina Bennett and husband, Bruce, of Vinita, Okla.; three sons, Marvin Eugene Cozart of Vinita, Okla., Danny Lee Cozart and wife, Sylvia, of Leeds and George Ballew and wife, Debra, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two brothers, Eugene Manzer of Omaha, Neb., and Charlie Manzer of Omaha, Neb.; one sister, Mildred Synder of Omaha, Neb.; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband; and one son, Charles Edward Cozart.
