LEWISTON – Madeleine E. Blais, 93, formerly of 122 Second St., New Auburn, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 23, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion.
She was born in Auburn, March 2, 1915, the daughter of the late Hector and Evelyn Parent Chabot. She was educated in Auburn schools and attended Bliss Business College. She was married April 29, 1947, to Aristide Blais, who predeceased her in February 1984. She was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish at St. Louis Church, the Ladies of Ste. Anne Sodality and the New Auburn Senior Citizens.
She enjoyed knitting, playing cards, beano and was an avid Red Sox fan.
She is survived by two daughters, Denise Ham and husband, Jeff, of Auburn and Claire Landry of Westminster, Mass.; a brother, Dr. Fern Chabot and wife, Marie, of Auburn; seven grandchildren, Angela Ruiz and husband, Dan, Kristine and Michelle Landry, Amy Johnson, Laura and Lindsey Leclerc and Briana Perreault and husband, Jack; six great-grandchildren, Devin Leclerc-Richard, Hunter Landry, Madeleine and Noah Johnson, Isaac Poliquin, Chance Perreault; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Lucienne and Eliane Chabot; and five brothers, Leo, the Rev. Armand, the Rev. Lucien, Dr. Bertrand and Marcel Chabot.
Madeleine’s family would like to thank the staff at d’Youville Pavilion for their loving care during her stay there.
