AUBURN – Gerard H. Denis, 79, formerly of Sabattus Street died Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Auburn Residential Care after a long illness.

He was born in Lewiston, on Dec. 2, 1929, a son of the late Charles and Cedulie (Jean) Denis. He married the former Yvette Martineau on July 2, 1951; she predeceased him in 2003. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. He worked for Bates Mill and was also a carpenter.

He leaves a daughter, Monique Levesque of Lewiston; a son, Gerald Denis and his wife, Sandra, of Lewiston; seven grandchildren; and two sisters, Ludgarde and her husband, Roger Fortin, of Lewiston and Gertrude Sleeper of Lewiston.

He was predeceased by a brother, Camille Denis.
