NORWAY – Abbott W. Ranger, 70, of South Paris, died Saturday, Nov. 29, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Farmington, Aug. 8, 1938, the son of Lewis and Eva (Shaw) Ranger. He owned and operated Rangers Market all of his life. He was an excellent meat cutter and was well-known for his catering. He was very proud of his business.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter. At one time he owned and operated a commercial fishing company. Many times people would gather in his store and talk about fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Paris Sportsman Club.
He is survived by his brother, Greg Ranger and his wife, Carol, and two nieces, Deidre Ranger and Rocquel Stanley and her husband, Don, all of Tacoma, Wash.; along with numerous cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; and one stepbrother, Stanley Compton.
The Ranger family would like to thank all of the friends who helped Abbott throughout the years.
