AUBURN – Muriel G. Hebert, 87, formerly of 28 Wilson St., Lewiston, for the past 28 years, passed away Nov. 20 at Bolster Heights Health Care Facility, where she had been a resident since July 2008.
Born in Lewiston on Jan. 5, 1921, the daughter of the late Alcide and Victoria Pelchat Marcotte, she was married to Andrew Hebert on June 19, 1949, who died on Sept. 10, 1983.
She was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1938, and the Acme Business College. She was then employed by three mayors in Lewiston. Later she was bookkeeper for L&P Cash Market, a business owned by her husband.
She was a member of Holy Family Church. She always carried a rosary blessed by the Pope, a gift from her brother-in-law, the Rev. Adrien Hebert, when in Rome. She was an avid reader.
She is survived by her caregiver and special friend, Doris Poirier and her husband, Paul R. Poirier.
She was predeceased by her parents; a sister, Beatrice Beaudoin; and her two brothers, Marcel and Gerald Marcotte.
