WEST PARIS – Ruth Rich Cummings, 82, of Bethel, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 18, at Ledgeview Living Center.

She was born on Nov. 19, 1925, in Greenwood, the daughter of Stella Kimball Rich and Ralph William Rich. She attended schools in Greenwood and Gould Academy.

She was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She married Irving Alton Cummings on Aug. 3, 1951. She also worked at the Bethel Laundromat for many years and at Telstar High School cafeteria.

She is survived by a brother, Clarence Howe and his wife, Joan, of Bethel; a daughter, Donna Douglass; daughter-in-law, Kathy Cummings; sons, Rexford and Andrew Cummings, all of Bethel; a daughter, Mary Robbins of Toccoa, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, “Blackie”; a son, Gregory I. Cummings; a daughter, Bonnita; and two granddaughters, Shelby Lynn Douglass and Kristen Cummings.
