PHILLIPS – Sadly, on Tuesday, Nov. 18, Sheila Jo Hansen of Phillips, lost her courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was the loving wife of Jerry M. Hansen Sr. and mother of Kristy Martin and her husband, Peter Martin Jr., and their son, Brady Martin of Casco; Jerry M. Hansen Jr. and his fiancée, Patricia Kemp, of Lewiston and his daughter, Laurali Hansen; Nicholas Hansen and fiancée, Katie Smarp and Kelly Jo Hansen-Ouellette, her fiancé, Tony Auger and their daughter, Alyxzandra Auger, all of Phillips.

She was born in Kittery, on June 10, 1956, to Herbert and Lorraine Miller. She was raised in Westbrook and graduated from Westbrook High School in 1974. She was always proud of her parents and loved them dearly.

She enjoyed many things, including spending time with family, especially her children and grandchildren and husband. She loved to read and play on the internet. POGO was her favorite site. She also liked to knit and was always proud to make something as a gift for anyone.

She was diagnosed in May with stage 4 terminal pancreatic cancer and fought a valiant battle until her death on Tuesday. She was an inspiration to many, trying not to complain about her constant pain, nausea and discomfort. She fought so hard to win this battle, but unfortunately this was a battle that could not be won. She was grateful for all of the support from her family, friends and the exceptional doctors and nurses that cared for her.

She is survived by her mother and father of Freeport; and her wonderful sisters, Cynthia Crocket of Standish and Shellie and her husband, Steven Hanrahan, of Leesburg, Fla.; her brother, Bruce and his wife, Annie Miller; several cousins, nieces, nephews; and many special friends. She will be missed dearly by those who loved her so much.
