PORTLAND – Irene Corson, 82, of Kingfield, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 17, in Portland at the Maine Medical Center. For more than 50 years, she was the wife of Norman R. Corson and lived life to the fullest.
She was the daughter of Dora and Harold Beedy and mother of Doreen, Randy, Donald and Terry who loved and adored their mom. She worked at various jobs helping raise her growing family, until she and her husband purchased a store in Kingfield in 1968.
She was a member of the Kingfield Sno-Wanderers and the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved to collect angels so she will have plenty of company in heaven. She enjoyed country music and a favorite pasttime was to venture over to Salem and listen to the local talent play her favorite songs. She had a quick wit and taught many the game of dominoes. Irene Beedy Corson or (IBC) as her license plate noted will be missed by many and remembered by all.
She leaves behind grandchildren, Faith, Melanie, Andy, Sheila, Hunter, Holland, Diana, Joseph and Mallorie; and many great-grandchildren. She was an aunt to many, with special love for Paula, Cara and Sharon, who visited “auntie” often and brightened up her day. She had countless friends whose friendship she cherished and helped her in many ways.
