AUBURN – Geraldine Alward, 81, of Webster Corner Road, Sabattus, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the Androscoggin Hospice House.
She was born in Norwich, Conn., on Aug. 3, 1927. She was raised by her grandparents, Carl and Mary Parker in Stockton Springs, where she attended schools.
She worked for many years in various manufacturing mills in the Lewiston-Auburn area and upon her retirement, she worked at the Village Store and the Settlement in Sabattus.
She was an avid bingo player and loved traveling to various casinos across the country. She enjoyed sewing and was a well-loved and generous person who loved making quilts for many people.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Beaulieu and her husband, Ray, of Lisbon; her son, Robert Alward and his wife, Nancy, of Sabattus; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and by her beloved cat “Gladys.”
The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Stadnicki, Dr. Neil Duval, Dr. Meghan Desai and Dr. Roger Austin and the entire staff of the Androscoggin Hospice House and the Home Care for the wonderful care they gave to Geraldine.
