AUBURN – Rene F. Goyette, 59, of 14 Turgeon St., Lewiston, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, with his family at his side.

He was born in Lewiston, April 13, 1949, the son of the late Luc and Germaine Cailler Goyette. He was educated in Lewiston schools and served his country in the U.S. Navy. Rene was employed as a truck driver for Dragon Cement Co.

He was a devoted father, brother and uncle to many nieces and nephews whom he cared about a great deal. He will be dearly missed by his family.

He is survived by two sons, Matthew and Andrew Goyette, both of Lewiston; five sisters, Connie Chabot and husband, John, of Auburn, Lorraine Chicoine and husband, Robert, of Livermore, Anita Canuel and husband, Roland, of Lewiston, Jeannine Berube and husband, Robert, of Lewiston and Therese Michaud of Danville; three brothers, Marcel Goyette and wife, Irene, of Sabattus, Raymond Goyette and wife, Pauline, of Windham and Bertrand Goyette and wife, Sally, of Lewiston; also many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; a daughter, Vanessa; two sisters, Georgette and Rita; and two brothers, Conrad and Robert.
