AUBURN – Jacqueline M. Veilleux, 67, of 21 Richmond Ave., Lewiston, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
She was born in St. Agatha, on Jan. 7, 1941, a daughter to the late Albert and Melinda (Guerrette) Fraser. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1959.
In 1963, she married the love of her life, Alphonse R. (Normand) Veilleux. She followed him during his military career, while he was serving in bases in U.S. and Japan. Upon his retirement from the U.S. Air Force, they settled in Lewiston.
She worked for several years at K-Mart and the Lewiston lunch program. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, where she was a eucharistic minister. She was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and the Ladies of St. Anne. She enjoyed knitting.
She leaves her husband of 45 years, Normand Veilleux of Lewiston; three sons, James Veilleux of Lewiston, David Veilleux of Lewiston and Gary Veilleux and his wife, Melissa, of Lewiston; a sister, Florine Marquis and her husband, Philip, of Lewiston; a brother, Rene Fraser and his wife, Bernice, of Minot; four grandchildren, Carollyn, Ashley, Ryan and Amber; a sister-in-law, Irene Fraser of Lewiston; a brother-in-law, Fern Brochu of Connecticut; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Irene Brochu; and a brother, Lawrence Fraser.
The family would like to say thank you to all the doctors and nurses at the Lewiston Kidney Center, especially Dr. Jennie Smith and also the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital ICU for all the compassionate care they gave to Jackie. A very special thank you goes to her PCP, Dr. Jeff Brown.
