FARMINGTON – Viviane E. Perry, 94, a former resident of Jay, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Orchard Park Rehabilitation & Living Center.

She was born on March 24, 1914, in Jay, the daughter of Joseph and Ida (Ouellette) Roy and attended the Jay schools. Viv joined International Paper Co. – Otis Mill on April 27, 1935, as a counter girl, and later as a paper tester and finishing clerk.

In 1943, she went to work in the personnel department, handling all areas of personnel. She was the only employee on the staff with 25 years of continuous service, at a time when very few women worked at the mill.

On June 27, 1954, she marred Albert Perry at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. He passed away on Jan. 1, 1975. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay and a member of the I.P. Quarter Century Club.

She is survived by two nephews, Gregory Roy and his wife, Della, of Jay and Gary Roy also of Jay; two nieces, Diane Schleigh of Pennsylvania, and Marilyn Monroe of New York, and a brother-in-law, Roderick Perry of Jay.

She was predeceased by a sister, Irene Crocker.
