NORWAY – Diane A. Thurston, 54, wife of David Thurston of Albany Township, died Sept. 26, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Lewiston, on May 30, 1954, the daughter of the late George and Helen (Payju) Abbott and graduated from Winthrop High School in 1972.

She worked at Stuarts Cannery for three years and had worked as a housekeeper at Papoose Pond and the Bethel Inn. She also had worked as a caregiver to Mrs. Wandgoff and many others. She had attended the Bethel Alliance Church and had a very strong relationship with the ladies of the church. She liked to make wreaths, balsam fir pillows and greeting cards, loved to talk on the phone, cook (especially apple pies) and loved clothes. She was the type of person who always wanted to help others.

She is survived by her husband, David of Albany Township; one son, Warren Thurston and his wife, Davina, and their daughter, Jayden, all of Gilead; two brothers, Mark Abbott and Andre’ Abbott, both of Georgia; one sister, Tammy Philips of Georgia; and many nieces, nephews aunts and uncles.

She was predeceased by one sister, Holly Romaro.
