LIVERMORE – Robert J. Timberlake, 82, a longtime resident of Livermore, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Sept. 24, at his home.
He was born on Dec. 26, 1925, in Turner, the son of Millett T. and Elizabeth L. Timberlake and attended Leavitt Institute in Turner. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 95th Infantry stationed in Europe at the Battle of the Bulge.
On Feb. 6, 1949, in Turner, he married Rita Moreau of Lewiston. Bob worked at International Paper Co. in Jay as a crane operator in the wood yard department for 40 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the IP Quarter Century Club, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and mowing his lawn. He was an avid Livermore Falls Andies sports fan attending many of the high school games. He also was a devoted Red Sox and Patriots fan.
He is survived by his wife, Rita of 59 years of Livermore; eight sons, Michael Timberlake and his wife, Judy, of Livermore, Dana Timberlake of Livermore, Kenneth “Sonny” Timberlake and his companion, Donna White, of Wilton, James Timberlake and his wife, Linda, of North Turner, Gary Timberlake of Lewiston, Brian Timberlake of Livermore Falls, William “Billy” Timberlake of Jay and Thomas Timberlake of Canton; a son-in-law, Roger Roy of Livermore; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Bonita “Bonnie” Roy in 2007; and two brothers, Asa Timberlake and Charles Timberlake.
