HARRISON – Alan E. Tripp, 51, of Harrison, died Sept. 15, at his residence in Harrison.
He was born in North Conway, N.H., on Nov. 29, 1956, to Dale and Eleanor (Peggy) Bickford Tripp. He attended school in Conway and was a graduate of New Hampshire Vocational Technical College in Laconia, N.H., with an associate degree in applied science in internal combustion engines in 1976.
His passion was working on and building race cars. He could fix just about anything that had to do with things that involved engines or cars. He had worked for Craig’s Body Shop in Harrison and helped build the car that Craig raced.
One of Alan’s accomplishments which he was very proud of was being a 1997 track champion crew chief for the No. 7 Pro 4 mini which he designed and built to race at White Mountain Motor Sports Park in Woodstock, N.H.
He and his wife, Deb, both danced to a different tune and really enjoyed life together. He just recently lost his wife, Deb (Grover) Tripp on Sept. 9. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him in the racing community.
He is survived by his sister, Debby and husband, Stephen Drew, of Litchfield, N.H.; two nephews, Dale Drew of Conway, N.H., and Jason Drew of Litchfield, N.H.; great-nieces, Makayla Drew and soon to be born, Sydney Grace Drew; two cousins; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Joan Grover of Albany.
He was predeceased by his parents; and his wife, Deb.
