WALLINGFORD, Conn. – Lucille F. Theriault Velush Madley, 86, of Wallingford, Conn., passed away peacefully, Thursday, Sept. 11. She was the wife of the late Stanley Velush and the late Harry L. Madley.
Born in Lewiston on Dec. 9, 1921, a daughter of the late Thomas and Marie Rose Thibodeau Theriault, she was a 1940 graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford. Lucille had been a Wallingford resident for many years and spent many summers living at her camp in Maine on Roxbury Pond, enjoying family and friends. She had been employed as a nurses’ aid in Rumford, also the Oxford Paper Co. as a timekeeper, the West Haven Veteran Hospital and then for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in North Haven for 27 years until her retirement.
She was a member of AMVETS, the Eucharistic League, the Columbiettes of Wallingford, the Pratt & Whitney Retirees Club and the Roxbury Pond Campers Association.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail M. Devine and her husband, Robert, of Wallingford, Conn.; her two sons, Michael T. Velush and his wife, Judy, of Stratford, and Christopher S. Velush of Southbury; her grandchildren, Timothy, Brendan and his wife, Courtney, Keith and Ashley Devine, Michael, Brian and Joshua Velush, and Evan and Emily Velush; her great-granddaughter, Amelia Devine; her sisters, Colette Wagner and Marcelle Miller of Rumford, Venise Sexton of Massachusetts, and Ruth Lynch of Louisiana; her brother, Russell Theriault of Rumford; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Irene Kinch, Viola Gurney, Gisele Gurney, Laurette Lavoie; and brothers, Real and Norman Theriault.
She will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother and will be missed by a host of loving family and friends.
