PHILLIPS – Mortimer E. Richard, 77, died Sept. 11, at his home in Phillips, after a long illness.
He was born Nov. 8, 1930, in Phillips, the son of William J. and Abbie M. (Calden) Richard. He was educated in the schools of Phillips. He married Marjorie Potter in Dixfield, in 1969. He was a self-employed lumberman, carpenter, worked for Milton Stinchfield Jr. Lumbering and later for M & M Woodworks of Phillips, where he made wooden clothes racks. He enjoyed four-wheeling, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Richard of Phillips; a son, Rocky Potter and his wife, Joyce, of Avon; daughter, Belinda of Limerick; two brothers, Rodney Richard of Rangeley and Lewis Richard of Phillips; a sister, Winona Davenport of Phillips; one grandson, Rusty Potter of Phillips; and a great-granddaughter, Jocelynn Potter.
